You might know Steven Crabtree from his fab show Dysfunctional Divas over at the Pocket Sandwich Theater. And if not, well, then you should. The long-running ever changing show highlights his versatility as a comedic performer where his one-man show presents six different characters, most notably Martini Glass, the veteran of Old Hollywood who is still ready for her close-up.
Well, she’s about to get it come later this month. We had heard straight from Crabtree’s mouth that his cinematic debut was around the corner but Camina Entertainment has sent out the official word on it and tickets are available now! Directed by local filmmaker Robert L. Camina, ”Martini the Movie” will be making its debut, Monday, January 26 at the Studio Movie Grill, 11720 N. Central Expressway at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are a mere $10 and can be purchased now on Camina’s Web site. And of course at the door. The film will then be followed by a Q & A with Crabtree and Camina and other crew and cast which also includes M. Denise Lee, Carrie Bourn and Jack E. Jett.
Fun times for sure and for now the only screening of the movie so this is a must for our calendar. We’re putting it on ours. Here’s some more on the event from Camina. And then check out the traiiler below.
“Martini the Movie” is an original comedy musical about Martini Glass, the legendary actress of Hollywood’s Golden Age. Set in the present, the story follows Martini as she prepares to audition for the comeback role of a lifetime.
Along the way, with cocktail in hand, she dishes the Tinseltown dirt with a flourish! With her fame fading, she is left to question whether her star will ever shine brightly again!Opening for “Martini the Movie” will be “Hunter4Love” a short film that screened at eleven film festivals from 2007-2008. The evening will also include several other surprises to be announced soon.
(Note that the movies contain some adult themes and language and are not appropriate for all ages.)
The evening will conclude with a Q&A with cast and crew, a raffle of some unbelievable prizes donated by local community partners, and an awesome after party that can’t be missed, lasting until 9:30pm!!
We hope to see you there!
*please be advised that tickets are nonrefundable unless the event is cancelled.
